This policy describes the current PlateRatio food-reference product.

Food searches and comparisons

Search terms and filters are sent to the PlateRatio server to retrieve food records. Comparison and portion calculations run in your browser. There are no user accounts, saved medical profiles, or payment forms.

A search URL can contain the term you entered. Do not enter private medical information into food-search fields. Standard browser history may retain URLs.

Cookies and tracking

This version does not use advertising trackers or visitor analytics. It does not set application cookies for food search or comparison, and it does not send searches to a third-party nutrition API. Fonts and the site’s food illustration are served with the site.

If advertising or analytics are introduced later, this policy will be updated before they are activated.

Server requests

Serving a website requires processing requests, including the requested URL and network information. The hosting provider may retain ordinary operational or security logs. PlateRatio runs on a dedicated application container on a shared server managed through Coolify. Application diagnostic logs rotate at 5 MB per file, with at most two files retained; there is no fixed time-based retention period. The application does not write a log of each food search or page request. Infrastructure providers may process additional operational or security information under their own policies.

Contact emails

If you email hello@plateratio.com, the message and your email address are available to the site operator and its email provider so the inquiry can be handled. Avoid sending sensitive personal information. Email is not submitted through an embedded tracking or form service on this site.

External sources

Links to USDA, FDA, and other original references open the source website. Those sites apply their own policies. Food records on PlateRatio come from public USDA datasets, not from visitor submissions or medical records.
